These beautiful masks are hand carved and painted by Newari artisans of Nepal. This mask features 'Cheppu' (in Buddhism) or 'Kirtimukha' (in Hinduism), a God created by Lord Shiva to end the evil demons. Traditionally hung over the main entrance of the house, Cheppu's wrathful appearance deters evil spirits and negativity. It can also be used as a wall hanging.
